meow/bark/blog | kitties and pugs and bullmastiffs, oh my!
Two unbalanced cats, a stubborn pug, and a bullmastiff that weighs more than I do? What were we thinking? meow/bark/blog is part humor, part confession, and part advice with lots of resources for pet owners who think of Fido as more than "just a dog."

The African Queens -- Dara M's project
The great African queens, their history and legacy.

VA Homeschooling, April D's project
The purpose of my site is to provide material for homeschooling within the state of Virginia. It will include requirements for homeschooling as well as field trips throughout the state. However, this website will appeal to others interested in homeschooling, but not in Virginia, because the other pages of the site will be about homeschooling in general. There will also be a blog for homeschooling parents to share techniques and other ideas.

UnMundane.biz -- Kat S's Project
Capital Chords is a one-stop shop for information about open mic nights in the greater Washington DC metro area. Locations, times, musical genres, reviews - everything a budding musician needs to get on stage!

Still Haven't Found, Amy G's project
As my domain name implies, I am looking for something or someone. It turns out to be the latter. I will be embarking on a quest to find my birth mother, who gave me up for adoption more than 30 years ago. Along the way, I will post resources that may help you or someone you know who is on a similar journey.

My Daily Peace, Kari S's project
My goal is to focus on one daily action that can be used to calm and center yourself providing the reader with a more peaceful day. I have been practicing yoga for 5 years and intend to become a yoga teacher eventually, so my blog will be a combination of yoga poses, meditation techniques, readings, and even mantras. My intent is to also incorporate more everyday actions such as cooking and discuss articles and books I read on similar topics such as organic living.

Missing Hawaii, Valerie P's project
Resources for "expat" Hawaii'ans.
Choose one of the links to discover recipes, ingredients, snacks, and other foods you've been craving from Hawaii! ...

ShulSearchDC.com, Janice C's project
A play on the common phrase "soul searching," because I'm looking for a place to worship rather than exploring how I actually feel about the worshipping. A shul is a synagogue, and I've been in DC for a while but haven't really done a lot of research on where I'd like to go to synagogue, so I'm going to begin that process and keep a blog about it. There are a few Web sites that just list synagogues in the area, but this will actually compare them and provide my first impressions about that, so hopefully I can help other young people moving to the area do the same.

Milwaukee Brewers, Rick N's project
Brewer's-specific site, including non-Milwaukee material...

Santa Marherita Ligure, Danielle G's project
information about a small town in Italy called Santa Margherita Ligure. It's on the Riviera coast close to the Cinque Terre, a popular tourist area. My site will have information on the town, with links to hotels, trains, and restaurants, and information about sights and activities around the area. I'll have pictures of the town, some surrounding areas and a map of where it is in Italy. I want to reach people who are interested in travelling to this region of Italy or Santa Margherita specifically. This site will help those who are trying to figure out in what city/town they should stay to tour the Riviera, and those who know they want to stay here but need more specific details about it.

Ultimate Sangria, Lisa P's project
This site will feature information about sangria, including background information on the drink, personal favorite recipes, and links to various other recipes. Perhaps there will even be an option for users to submit their own favorite recipes.

The Collar of Hillary Clinton, Glenn's project
Comment on a recent photo of Hillary and the vibrant shirt-collar she always wears. It will not be too political, just fun. Sort of along the lines of Bill Clinton's video of him in the White House (riding his bike, playing with the dog, etc). For example, I see Hillary wore the a goldenrod collar today which means she is leaning to the center but her eyes are looking left.

Gotham Tales, Jane's project
A book review site for people interested in fiction and nonfiction about 19th-century New York City.

Sustainable Personal Agriculture and Energy, Michael's project
Organized resources regarding personal agriculture (small farms, gardens), personal energy (small-scale wind, solar, hydro), and other associated content.

Bigboned Blog, Michelle S's project
A blog about my weight loss journey, tips, recipes, etc.

Weekly Munch: DC-Area Restaurants, Alison's project
A blog that hosts DC area restaurant reviews.

CryptoZoology Central, Sean's project
an aggregator site, linking to stories about odd animals and creatures on the web. From chupacabras to yetis, I'll take all comers, even if they have an unfortunate ring of truth to them.

Therapeutic Riding Program website, Beth's project
Links to local and national websites but will also draw in information and tips whether you are more of 'a horse person' or 'a kid person.' I'm hoping to demystify the process and encourage more people to begin volunteering with these programs.

Honey bees, hive collapse, and the implications, Jim S's project
My topic revolves around the recent disappearance of the honeybee and it's impact on the ecology and economy. I will address the importance of the honeybee's role in pollination of fruits and vegetables; the potential economic impact of the disappearance of the honeybee; and the solution (grass roots beekeeping) to further revive the honeybee colonies in North America.

First-Time Home Buyers in Arlington, Molly's project
Arlington because, even though it covers a small area geographically, I think there will be enough interest from this area to justify the microsite. Arlington had a 2005 population of about 200,000 and the DC metro population is more than 5 million currently. I think that Arlington is a place that garners a lot of interest within the general population of the DC metro area since it is just outside of the city, is cheaper than DC, and has a lot of attractions within its borders in terms of entertainment and dining.

PanFlip, Carrie's project
Premise/Purpose: An instructional/educational site for aspiring and accomplished chefs to share techniques, tips and stories related to the art of pan flipping food.
