About This Collection

This collection of Web links is produced by Michael Jensen, as a means of identifying and sharing resources I locate that pertain to a new, rest-of-my-life enthusiasm, a hobby farm my wife and I purchased in Nova Scotia. Comprised of nearly 100 acres, half oldgrowth forest (150+ years), and half hayfields, and which has not been farmed for 30+ years, and has never had chemicals or fertilizers upon it, to the best of our historical record. Two streams run through the property, and there's plenty of water and pretty good drainage.

What we'll do with it is still in process -- no doubt wind power (since the wind always blows), and an orchard of heritage fruit trees. I have dreams of using an electric tractor charged by the wind and sun, and super-efficient sustainable methods. The information contained within these pages are designed to help us reach that goal, since we'll be moving into the farm life slowly, and with good preplanning.
